Top Mob: Update

Buongiorno Mobsters! Today, we released an update to the “Top Mob” feature that significantly changes how you invite your friends.  Before, when you wanted to fill your Top Mob, you would post a general feed to your wall that anyone could see (even people who were not interested!).  Now, the Top Mob invites have been changed so that you can directly select who you want to be in your Top Mob.  When you click to recruit new Top Mob members, you will see a Facebook request window that works just like a friend invite!  It will look like this:

This way, you can avoid sending Top Mob invites to your friends who are not interested, and instead only contact your Mob Wars friends.  Or, if you don’t want to bother your friends at all (or if you don’t have friends…) you can simply buy each Top Mob position for 4 FP.  Positions that have been filled by normal friend invites and positions that have been filled by a purchase will look slightly different, but all benefits are the same.

Please note that Favor Points are NOT required to fill your Top Mob positions! The option to buy the positions is there for players who either do not have enough friends or who do not want to send out any invites.  Also, instead of a one-click-and-you’re-done wall post, you now have to select who you want to invite individually. For people with large mobs, this could be annoying. We are hoping to add an “Invite all” option for this, but that will be dependent on what Facebook allows for this kind of wall post. The good news is that once you send out your invites, you do NOT have to send out a new batch of invites for each Top Mob position. Anyone who responds to your original request will be added to the next available Top Mob position, just as before this change.
If you have any questions or comments about this change, please leave a comment!  Thanks for reading!

  1. I like the change! I hope this takes effect in the weekly heists, job help and enforcers. This will give you the chance to send them to new players so that the scripts don’t gobble everything up, leaving nothing for the lower levels

  2. I personally don’t care for this. I really don’t have time to sit and type names or scroll through a list of 1000+ mob friends which, by the way, is taking about 2 minutes to load into the selection screen. Chances are the first 50 people listed alphabetically in my list will be the ones receiving my top mob requests.

Whoever spends 4 FP to “rent” one Top Mobster for 48 hours should have their head examined, when considering it only costs 10 FP to purchase 2 hired guns who you can keep forever.

If Heists and Job requests are changed to this same format, I would seriously consider retiring from the game.

  3. I don’t like it. Takes a LOT longer to ASK for help (especially when Facebook is slow to respond) and then you have to wait LONGER for someone to respond. Plus I get MULTIPLE (in one case over a dozen) requests from a SINGLE mobster asking for help, giving me a LOT more “requests” to process (or delete, one at a time). Thumbs down on this one. How about some new cities instead ?????

  4. This option was already available through facebook. You could customize your post so only friends in your mob would see your post (provided you had them on a “mobwars” friends list). This change was completely unnecessary and is unwelcome because it now requires those being contacted to go to their game requests rather than to see the post on their regular feed. This makes it much harder than before to get people to respond quickly. All in all a stupid change. And to implement this change without a “select all” option is doubly stupid.

  5. It’s funny- when you take a look at the FB site of this app, there are 50 post, and only two are “like this changes”. And here? 50 % best whishes to the dev ore what?
Where are the new citys? You have a lot of time to make changes who the player don’t want, but for other things? If you want more cash, why don’t you ask us, why the way about the Godfatherpoints?

  6. I’ve been playing for close to 4 years and this makes me want to reset and uninstall the game. Just recently spent actual money for favor points but I won’t do it again. Haven’t had any energy jobs for over a year after completion of all the heists/cities and all you have to offer is this garbage? Pathetic idea. Get some real programming skills and make the game fun or lose your players. Simple as that. Idiots.

  7. ‘Dislike’ extremely. Why not just give us the original method as a third option? That way you will make everyone happy.

I agree completely!! I have all of my FB games set up this way, so that my friends that don’t play never see any of my games post. This is a horribly bad idea, and to even think of having the option to pay in FPs is just a rotten scheme to try and get those who can’t (or won’t) take the time to go through your idiotic “new system” to pay out. How greedy are you people anyways??

I will not be using this system at all. I will simply forgo having any Top Mobsters. There, now what are you gonna do?

  9. plz put it back the way it was, it was less confusing and there was nothing wrong with it in the first place, thses changes are not nessasary and focus should be on other thind like jobs and cities.

  10. Getting your own Top Mob filled isn’t really the problem.
Post your link as status or ask friends through the chat.

The problem is the requests you receive, because now many are sending up to 50 requests.
So if you have +1000 ppl, guess what happens?
In the morning when I log inside, I have up to 100 requests, which will mostlikely all be filled allready. AND I HAVE TO DELETE THEM EVEN IF I WOULD ACCEPT THEM.
Many thanks for this great change that makes it possible for my request page to be spammed

  11. I absolutely hate this, and I don’t know anyone who likes it!!! it takes forever to get people to check their requests, so then I end up hounding them in chat. Several times I have accidentally spent perfectly good favour points to fill because I clicked the wrong button. I previously suggested that you include “are you sure” before allowing it to go through, but you haven’t bothered. Instead, you lowered the fp price – big deal. It’s still a waste of perfectly good fp and it pisses me off that I get no warning.

No one but MW players ever see my MW posts. It is completely easy to set this up. It is not an issue, but you’ve made it one. Even for those who don’t care if they spam their friends; be assured, their non-playing friends have already blocked the game posts.

This was a pointless change that made the game worse in every possible way.
